Our mission is to help our community.

We Are Mental Health America of Eastern Carolina.

For over eight years, partners from all across the region have come together to make our community better. These organizations and individuals have focused their efforts on mental health action and advocacy, promoting the cause for the people we love, serve, and support.

Education For Community Providers

In addition to our annual conference, MHAEC hosts regional summits, workshops, and trainings for community doctors, therapists, case managers, nurses, educators, members of the clergy and faith based communities, and social workers.

Educational Materials

Getting information into the hands of community members is important at MHAEC. We offer a variety of print and digital materials for distribution. Additionally, we co-brand products for a small fee for organizations looking to offer similar supports in the community.

Online Screening Tools

Since its inception in May 2014, MHA has collected over 1.5 Million screens. Today, MHA collects around 3,000 screenings daily. After completing their screening, individuals receive immediate results, education, resources and linkage to local offices.

Peer Navigation Services

In addition to having peers throughout the region, helping persons access care, MHAEC also hosts peer credentialing, training, and is a testing site for the MHA National Peer Support Specialist designation.

Community Outreach Programs

MHAEC hosts community events, and works to promote information and outreach throughout Eastern Carolina. The focus of our community outreach is awareness, engagement and education of community members.

Criminal Justice Intervention

The intersection of mental health and incarceration effects so many of those dear to our heart. MHAEC works with local law enforcement agencies to promote diversion, treatment, and support for those facing mental health concerns and who are also criminally justice involved.

Become a Peer Navigator

In addition to having peers throughout the region, helping persons access care, MHAEC also hosts peer credentialing, training, and is a testing site for the MHA National Peer Support Specialist designation.

Sola Amari Endowment

The Sola Amari Endowment is a fund inspired by children and adolescents who have shown exuberant amounts of resilience, strength, and hope. They shine their light in this world so strongly despite coming from areas of poverty, environments of abuse or neglect, or other personal hardships. This endowment is dedicated to these children, adolescents, and their brave and unwavering caregivers who come in the form of parents, grandparents, foster parents, group home managers, teachers, and more. The hearts of these children are some of the most beautiful blessings in this world. The Sola Amari Endowment thanks each and every one of you for your donation and contribution to bettering the lives of these children.
